I don't think i could really do my last week justice in a livejournal update, but I can say that it has been amazing. I have been exploring the East Coast more, and exploring it with someone that I love, and that has been such a gratifying experience. I have felt more spiritually connected to this place as a result of these explorations as well, which has served to ease my soul on more than one occasion. Honestly, however, I believe that it is difficult not to feel spiritual when the leaves are shifting from deep greens to scarlet, orange, firey colors that dramaticize every space that they inevitably invade. The landscape has been transformed out here by the change in weather/season.
My happiest moments have been those in which I have been able to experience more fully that world. Last monday tim and i went out to Walden Pond, which was wonderful because we got to ride the train out there and then spent the entire day wading in the water, walking the trails, looking up through the trees as we rested in the forest. It was truly soul-nourishing. Then this weekend we went to NY for Lee's birthday. We rode the "Fung Wah Chinatown Express" from Boston to New York and back, a 4ish-hour-long bus ride that allowed us to watch the changing landscape race by us. Not quite as communal as Walden, but I still felt it.
New york, of course, was amazing. We went to Ground Zero and also out to the water's edge to see the Statue of LIberty. All of these things that I have seen in pictures and movies came to life in front of me. They were quite beautiful, in fact. Especially seeing the water and the statue.
